INDIAN TROOPS PARTICIPATION IN THE DEFEAT OF THE ITALIAN-GERMAN FORCES IN TUNISIA (1943)

Abstract

The article is devoted to the participation of Indian troops in major operations of the allied armies against Italian-German forces on the territory of Tunisia during World War II. British India actively participated in the war, its troops acting on many theatres of operations including North Africa. The article contains the analysis of the Indian units actions as a part of the British Army, their cooperation with the troops of other countries participated in the battle for Tunisia. Special attention is paid to the specifics of Indian units’ combat employment. The conclusion is made of the Indian soldiers’ role in the victory over the fascism in Tunisia.
