INTEGRATION PROCESSES IN NORTH AMERICA AND THE FORMER SOVIET UNION: THE HISTORY OF DEVELOPMENT

Abstract
The subject of the enclosed research deals with the brief history of the integration processes in the former Soviet Union and in North America. The study is based on the analysis of a number of historical sources and historiography on the subject. The authors come to the conclusion that the history of the development of integration processes in North America and the former Soviet Union is characterized by common features. The authors believe that it is the involvement into the regional integration projects that is the key to successful economic development of the states in the North American region, as well as in the former Soviet Union.
