Abstract

The collapse of the Soviet Union
in 1991 led not only of sovereignty of former
Soviet republics, but also some of the autonomous
republics of Russia, one of whom was the
RT . The process of adopting a local constitution
and its provisions have provoked heated
debate both in the republic, and at the federal
level, as some provisions of the Basic Law of
Tatarstan had no parallel in the history of domestic
constitutional thought. The political
atmosphere of the Constitution of Tatarstan
was characterized on the one hand the pressure
of the federal center, speaking for the
signing of the federal republic of the contract,
and presentations by the radical nationalist
organizations, spoke for the independence of
the republic.
