COLD WAR: THE ROLE OF HOCKEY CONFRONTATION IN THE USSR-CANADA-USA RELATIONS

Abstract

The article presents in the form of a scientific review
the progress and trends, significance and consequences
of the Soviet-North American Hockey confrontation to Russia
during the cold war. The author proves the scientific value
of studying the elite sport (in this case, ice-hockey) as a social
institution. The article presents both the authors basic
conclusions on his theme of dissertational research and the
problem of interdependence of the world policy and sports as
a social institution.
