The "War communizm" in the estimations of the mensheviks-emigrants (on the mensheviks' press)

Abstract

The article dedicates to the topical scientific and social question: the estimations of the Bolsheviks' state's policy (during the Civil war) of the "war communizm", represented on the pages of the emigrants' press by the leaders of menshevizm in the early 1920s. In this work the author analyses the articles published in "The Socialist Bulletin" and "Zarya" in the situation when the "war communizm" was replaced with New Economic Policy (NEP). The article contains the opinion of mensheviks-emigrants on the "war communizm" as an economic and social Utopia which led Russia to the economic chaos. Besides the author shows that mensheviks continued to present themselves as antagonists of the forcible upheaval against the weakened (because of the "war communizm")Soviet state.
