The role of Russia's participation in the war of the Austrian succession as considered in the modern English-speaking historiography

Abstract

The article is devoted to the little
investigated problem: different aspects of
Russia's participation in the War of the Austrian
Succession as considered in foreign (English-
speaking) historiography. The author
comes to the conclusion that the main problems
which are analyzed in foreign historiography
are the following: the political struggle
in Russia, Russia' international orientation
during the War, Russian-Austrian alliance
and Russia's participation in the military actions.
The author believes that the material
presented by the foreign historians does not
allow to imagine the complex picture of the
Russia's participation in the war
