Revolutionary Everyday Routine: the confl ict of the concepts of discipline in March and October 1917 (based on the materials of the 1st Battleships Brigade of the Baltic Fleet)

Abstract

In this article, using anthropological
and microhistorical approaches, based on new
archival material, examines the relationship of
the political situation in the country and the
revolutionary discipline of the sailors of the Baltic
Sea. It is concluded that a new understanding of the
discipline in March - October 1917 resulted in the
confl ict with the offi cers and reduced the combat
capability of the fl eet.
