В данной статье проводится сравнительный анализ наработанных политологической наукой классификаций форм государственного правления; исследуется уместность применения западного политологического инструментария для идентификации процессов и институтов постсоветского политического ландшафта. В статье содержится развернутое описание теоретической сути президентализма, парламентаризма и полупрезидентализма, а также приводится опыт их практического воплощения в новых независимых государствах.
