Статья посвящена такому слабоизученному в отечественной историографии вопросу, как освещение дипломатической и военной истории Войны за австрийское наследство (1740-1748 гг.). Ввиду обширности данной темы автором избран один из наиболее важных периодов войны (1742-1743 гг.). Автором была поставлена следующая задача: систематизировать обширный фактический материал, относящийся к данному периоду, и сделать выводы по поводу дальнейших дипломатических и военных перспектив Войны за австрийское наследство. Главным выводом статьи является заключение о том, что в рассматриваемый период на первый план в дипломатических отношениях вышло противостояние Великобритании и Франции, что привело к тому, что борьба за австрийские владения в Германии, «австрийское наследство» - перешла в плоскость общеевропейской войны.
The article is devoted to a little-known problem in Russian historiography. This is the question of a diplomatic and a military history of The War of the Austrian Succession (17401748). In view of the extensiveness of that subject the author elected one of the most important periods of the War (1742-1743). The author set the following problem: to systematize the extensive historical material relating to this period as well as to draw the conclusions concerning the further diplomatic and military prospects of the War. The main conclusion of article is as follows. Opposition of Great Britain and France was the main feature of all-European diplomatic relations during the period under consideration. This confrontation turned the fight for the Austrian possessions in Germany, the struggle for "the Austrian Succession" into the direction of the level of the all-European war.
