Статья посвящена малоизученной в отечественной и зарубежной историографии теме: изучению русско-французским отношениям в период войны за австрийское наследство. Данная проблема рассматривается автором с точки зрения анализа внешнеполитической стратегии петербургской и версальской дипломатии, а также проблемы вхождения России в состав «великих держав». Анализируется политика «восточного барьера», проводимая Францией, делается вывод о том, что стремление России войти в состав «великих держав» не поддерживалось Францией, а ее попытки сближения с Россией были продиктованы сугубо прагматическими целями, вытекавшими из военно-политических требований момента.
The article is devoted to a poorly studied subject in the domestic and foreign historiography - the investigation of the Russian-French relations during the War of the Austrian Succession. This problem is considered by the author in respect to the analysis of the foreign policy strategy of the St. Petersburg and Versailles diplomacy, as well as in respect to the problem of including Russia into the "great powers" structure. The policy of "east barrier" pursued by France is analyzed. The author comes to the conclusion that the aspiration of Russia to be a part of "great powers" wasn't supported by France and its attempts of rapprochement with Russia were dictated by especially pragmatical purposes coming from military-political requirements of the moment.
