В работе проведено исследование форм и методов применения государственно-частного партнерства (ГЧП) для реализации колониальной экспансии европейских стран в отдаленные районы Азии. Основную часть исследования составляет анализ деятельности Голландской Ост-Индской компании (ОИК) на территории современной Индонезии и других стран региона. Показаны предпосылки к учреждению ОИК, особенности формирования её капитала и функционирования органов управления, а также рассмотрены закономерности деятельности военной составляющей указанного бизнеса, его влияние на социокультурную сферу принимающих территорий. Проведено сравнение колонизаторских проектов XVII в. с инвестиционными интересами современных многонациональных предприятий в слаборазвитых регионах мира. В заключение сделан вывод о симбиотическом характере действия государственной и частной составляющих ОИК, которое на протяжении её «золотого века» обеспечивало решающие преимущества в конкурентной борьбе, но механизм ГЧП определил неспособность компании адаптироваться к изменившимся условиям в экономике и обществе.

The research covers the ways public-private partnership (PPP) mechanism was applied for the colonial expansion of European powers into the remote regions of Asia. The main part of the article contains the analysis of the activities undertaken by the Dutch East India Company - Verenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie (VOC) in the territory of modern Indonesia and other states of the region. The prerequisites to establishment of the VOC, capital formation procedures, managerial regulations, and the military component operation are explored. The VOC has influenced social and cultural sphere of host territories. The colonization projects of the 17th century have been compared with the interests of modern multinational enterprises to invest in the least developed regions of the world. The author concludes on the symbiotic nature of VOC’s state and private components, which had assured decisive competitive advantages during her golden age. But later the PPP mechanism had determined the inability of the company to adapt to the changing business and social environment.
