Причерноморские памятники, находящиеся на территории России, не следует изучать в отрыве от памятников, расположенных на территории других стран Причерноморья и раскопанных иностранными археологами. Данная публикация представляет собой перевод отчёта о раскопках греческой колонии Аполлонии Понтийской (совр. Болгария) и её окрестностей, проведённых французской экспедицией в 1904 г. В ходе этих раскопок были исследованы тумулусы в окрестностях Аполлонии, византийские памятники на о. Св. Иоанна и античные памятники на о. Св. Кириака, где располагалась древнейшая часть Аполлонии.

Acquaintance with the results of excavations conducted by non-Russian archaeologists seems essential for Russian specialists in the archaeology of the Black Sea region. We present a Russian translation of a report on French excavations in Apollonia Pontica and its vicinity (modern Bulgaria) conducted in 1904. The expedition researched ancient tumuli near Apollonia, remains of Byzantine buildings at the island of St. Johannes, and the ancient Greek site at the island of St. Kyriakos, where the most ancient part of Apollonia had been situated.
