Цель. Определить важнейшие внешнеполитические тренды Канады в новейшее время, их специфику и особенности.
Процедуры и методы. Ключевым методом проводимого исследования явился историко-сравнительный метод, который способствовал анализу и сопоставлению различных трендов внешней политики Канады в контексте рассматриваемой исторической эпохи.
Результаты. Выявлены и охарактеризованы 3 взаимосвязанных между собой тренда внешней политики Канады, каждый из которых последовательно отражает её сущностное содержание. Тренды формировались под влиянием франко-канадского фактора, внешнеполитических ценностей Британской империи и Вестминстерского статута 1931 г. Сделан вывод о том, что существующие внешнеполитические тренды обеспечили Канаде самостоятельность на международной арене.1
Теоретическая и/или практическая значимость. Результаты исследования могут быть использованы при формировании стратегии российско-канадских отношений на современном этапе, и, в частности, возможном сотрудничестве с Канадой по арктической проблематике. Практическая значимость проведённого исследования связана с внедрением его результатов в образовательный процесс в рамках работы автора статьи со студентами-международниками в Институте международных отношений и политических наук РГГУ. Кроме того, материалы исследования могут быть использованы при создании учебных и лекционных курсов по новейшей истории Канады.
Aim. To identify the most important foreign policy trends of Canada in modern and contemporary history, their specificity and features.Methodology. The key method of the study was the historical-comparative method, which contributed to the analysis and comparison of various trends in Canadian foreign policy in the context of the historical era under consideration.Results. Three interconnected trends in Canadian foreign policy were identified and characterized, each of which consistently reflects its essential content. It has been proven that the above trends were formed under the influence of the French-Canadian issue, the foreign policy values of the British Empire and the Statute of Westminster of 1931. It has been concluded that the existing foreign policy trends have ensured Canada's independence in the international arena.Research implications. The results of the study can be used in forming a strategy for Russian-Canadian relations at the present stage, and, in particular, possible cooperation with Canada on Arctic issues. The practical significance of the study is associated with the introduction of its results into the educational process as part of the author's work with international relations students at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science at the Russian State University for the Humanities. In addition, the research materials can be used in creating educational and lecture courses on the modern history of Canada.
