Цель. Рассмотреть внешнеполитический и внутриполитический контексты, сопровождавшие разработку «Меморандума Козака» как оптимального варианта долгосрочного урегулирования приднестровского конфликта.

Процедура и методы

Процедура и методы. При проведении исследования применены методы теоретического анализа, обобщения, сравнительно-исторический и проблемно-хронологический.

Результаты

Результаты. В ходе работы были проанализированы причины, по которым проект был отвергнут президентом Республики Молдова В. Ворониным; раскрывается значение неиспользованного, но по-прежнему актуального потенциала этого документа в приднестровском урегулировании.

Теоретическая и/или практическая значимость. Проанализировано содержание предшествующих «Меморандуму Козака» проектов урегулирования приднестровской проблемы, которые не получили дальнейшего развития. Обосновано, что принятие «Меморандума Козака» могло стать поворотным пунктом в долгосрочном, если не окончательном, урегулировании приднестровской проблемы. Результаты статьи могут быть использованы при составлении лекционных курсов по современной истории и внешней политике России, истории конфликтов на постсоветском пространстве, а также как одна из позиций для дальнейшего исследования данной проблематики.

Aim. To consider the foreign policy and domestic political contexts which accompanied the development of the “Kozak Memorandum” as the best option for the long-term settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.

Methodology

Methodology. When conducting the study, such methods as theoretical analysis, generalization, comparative-historical and problem-chronological methods were used.

Results

Results. In the case of study, the reasons why the project was rejected by the President of the Republic of Moldova V. Voronin were analyzed; the article also discloses the value of the unused but still relevant potential of this document in the Transnistrian settlement.

Research implications

Research implications. The content of the draft settlement of the Transnistrian problem, which did not receive further development, was analyzed. It is justified that the adoption of the “Kozak Memorandum” could have become a turning point in the long-term, if not final, settlement of the Transnistrian problem. The results of the article can be used in compiling lecture courses on modern history and foreign policy of Russia, the history of conflicts in the post-Soviet space, as well as as one of the positions for further research on this issue.
