Автор приводит свидетельс- тво из заупокойного храма Аменхотепа III, которое, по его мнению, подтверждает факт, что топоним Сечет-«Азия» в эпоху Нового Царства мог включать в себя не только сиро- палестинские регионы, но также и регио- ны, которые традиционно считаются «пра- родиной» «народов моря» (Эгеида, Южная Греция, Западная Анатолия). На основании этого автор полагает, что в Элефантинской стеле фараона Сетнахта под наемниками из Сечетиу могут подразумеваться филистим- ляне и иные группы «народов моря», кото- рые появляются в Египте и Палестине в кон- це 13 - начале 12 в. до н.э., согласно данным археологии (раскопки Дж. Таббом в Телль ас-Саадийа) и письменных источников (P. Louvre 3136, надпись 5-го года правления Рамсеса III в Мединет Абу).
The author adduces evidence from the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III., which confirms, in his opinion, the fact that the place-name %T.t in the New Kingdom includes not only the regions of Syria-Palestine, but those that are traditionally considered as the homeland of the Sea Peoples too (the Aegean, the Southern Greece, the North-Western Asia Minor). Based on this evidence the author supposes that the mercenaries from the %t.tw mentioned in the text of Elephantine stele as the enemies of the Pharaoh Sethnakhte could be the Philistines and the other groups of the Sea Peoples which appear in Egypt and Palestine at the end of the 13 - beginning 12 BC according to the archaeological data (the excavations in Tell es-Sa‛idiyeh by J. Tubb) and the textual evidences (P. Louvre 3136, the inscription of Ramses III. 5th regnal year in Medinet Habu).
