В статье анализируются предпосылки и формирование идеи организации нового крестового похода против турок под руководством Карла VIII в 1490-1494 гг. Идея нового крестового похода исполь- зовалась участниками международных отношений как пропагандистский лозунг для усиления собствен- ного влияния и борьбы за политическую гегемонию в Западной Европе. Для французского короля была необходима четкая внешнеполитическая цель, об- щая для западноевропейских государств, которая позволила бы ему достичь гегемонии в этом регио- не. Именно такой необходимой целью и становится идея организации нового крестового похода против турок под началом Карла VIII, появившаяся во многом благодаря римскому папе Иннокентию VIII в 1490 г., а затем активно реанимированная в 1492-1494 гг. во время начала понтификата Александра VI.

The article presents a detailed analysis of the background and formation of the idea of organizing a new crusade against the Turks under the leadership of Charles VIII in the years 1490-1494. The idea of a new crusade was used by various countries as a propagandist slogan to reinforce their own political influence in struggle for hegemony in Western Europe. The French King Charles VIII needed a clear political aim shared by other Western European countries which would allow him to achieve hegemony in the region. Thus the idea of organizing a new crusade against the Turks encouraged by Pope Innocent VIII becomes the main target of French foreign policy in 1490 and the subsequent years from 1492 to 1494 supported by Alexander VI.
